They are small, delicious and healthy. Shrimps are a real lucky find for our diet! Fortunately, the days when crustaceans were only served to rich people who lived near the coast are gone. Today, frozen shrimp is available in every grocery store. The demand is increasing, so a large part of the demand is now covered by farmed shrimp from aquacultures. These are strictly controlled and are in no way inferior in taste to their wild counterparts.
It is precisely the quantity of vitamins contained in shrimps that makes them so healthy: among other things, shrimps contain vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K as well as folic acid. Other ingredients include iron, iodine, calcium and magnesium. Shrimp also have a high protein content. And last but not least, the nutritional values of shrimp are excellent: very low fat content, many proteins.

Ingredients for 4 servings
1 kg shrimps, peeled, if unpeeled, correspondingly more
300 ml white wine
1 lemon, juice thereof
7 tablespoons olive oil
½ Pot of basil
1 chili pepper, fresh
1 bunch of spring onions
1 tuber/n garlic, less according to taste
1 pck. cherry tomatoes, approx. 250 g, also more if desired
salt and pepper
Preparation of the Healthy Pan-Grilled Barbecue Shrimp
Pluck the basil finely, cut the spring onions and a chili pepper into rings and garlic into slices. Halve the cocktail tomatoes.
Put all ingredients (quantity varies according to your taste and feeling) together in an aluminium grill bowl without holes and place on the grill until the prawns are pink and cooked. Stir from time to time.
It is served with fresh white bread or ciabatta, with which you can dip even the last bit of sauce.
Of course it can also be baked in the oven in a casserole dish or similar. – or on the stove in a large pan. But it tastes best on a nice summer evening outside with a glass of cool white wine.
