Tzatziki is perfect for the barbecue season! I only make it myself – and everyone has a garlic odor afterwards. But it has to be. It’s the garlic that makes the taste. You don’t need much for a homemade Tzatziki. Only a few ingredients and spices. It’s a real quick recipe. Of course, Tzaziki is also available ready-made in the fridge of every supermarket, but the best tasting Tzaziki is homemade.

Working time: approx. 10 min.
Level of difficulty: simple

Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 cups of Greek yoghurt
  • 1 cup cream quark, 40% fat
  • dill
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • olive oil
  • Vinegar (herb vinegar)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation

First peel the cucumber, then grate into small pieces. Pour the juice away or use it for other purposes. Mix the two Greek yoghurts with the quark and cucumber. Press and add the garlic, depending on taste you can take more or less garlic cloves. Season with dill and season with olive oil, vinegar, pepper and salt.

Please make sure that you really use Greek yoghurt, which is firmer and fatter than our normal yoghurt!

Tastes super delicious with barbecue or jacket potatoes!
